There is nothing new except what has been forgotten.
― Marie Antoinette
If you’re new here, you might not know that many years ago, I used to have seizures and that the medicine I was on then made me forget a LOT.
When I say a LOT, I mean I don’t really have solid memories of the years between 2005 and 2012. Three years ago, we happened to drive past the church where we got married 15 years ago and stopped to take a photo… because I didn’t remember being there!
Luckily, I blogged a lot back then, and have the good fortune to be able to read about many of the important events in my life as I experienced them then through those blog posts. They’re still here on this site, converted into a custom post type and de-indexed so they’re available only to me.
Hundreds of memories tucked away to help me remember my life.
I don’t have memory problems in the same way anymore now that I don’t need that medicine.
But somewhere along the way, I stopped blogging as much. I think that was a mistake looking back, and I’d like to start again. You never know when you’ll want a record of what seems important enough to you to write down.
